150th Anniversary Celebration 1863-2013  (Commemorative Booklet – Anniversary Bulletin)

The year 2013 was special as our goals and activities included a year long celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Anglican ministry at Holy Trinity in Hammond River in the Parish of Hammond River. The following provides a summary of activities held throughout the year. Many thanks to all parishioners who helped make this year so successful!

January 27 Anniversary launch with Video ‘Over the Years’ & Gallery of Pictures Display
Sundays in February Short Stories from Long Ago shared by parishioners– with display items
February 22 Youth Group Sleigh Ride
March 22 Community Lunch – Food, Music,Fun!150th Anniversary Display of pictures, slides and memorabilia (11 – 12:30pm)
March 23 Intervarsity Christian Fellowship Workshop 9am -12pm with David Boyle – campus minister at UNB Saint John, NBCC, UNB Fredericton and St Thomas. Something for everyone – the young & the ‘not so young’!!
April 14th Celebrating Archdeacon David Barrett’s arrival with a ‘Splash’!
May 24 Community Lunch  & KV Outreach ‘Silent Witness’ Display
May Tree Planting in the Arts and Culture Park with Mayor and Council “Commemorating the 150th Anniversary of Ministry in Holy Trinity Anglican Church, HammondRiver (1863-2013)”
June 16 Anniversary Service with Archbishop Miller & Reception.Congratulatory Anniversary certificates were received from Prime Minister Stephen Harper; Premier David Alward and the Honorable Blaine Higgs.

October 1 Launch of Commemorative Pewter Ornaments
October 5 Workshop with Tracy Friars 9am -3pm: ‘Celebrating’ our lives and relationships and how that empowers us to reach out and help others.
Nov 10 Remembering those who gave their lives for us with guest speaker Harold Wright
November 23 Spaghetti Supper & Guest Event: David Goss shared a ‘Collection of New Brunswick Stories’
November 28 Old Fashioned Hymn Sing – proceeds for ‘Safe Harbour’
December 8 Crèche Festival & Community Lunch (Free will offering for Safe Harbour)
